Luxury Hotel in Madrid
Spains oldest luxury hotel used to be a favourite haunt of Royals, Movie stars, and famous artists. Madrid Palace Hotel is perfectly situated smack in the middle of Madrid and I was lucky to get upgraded to a beautiful suite overlooking the spectacular Fountain of Neptune.
The Palace is right next door to the El Prado museum, a ten-minute walk to the breathtaking El Retiro Park, and very close to the Barrio De Salamanca (high fashion business district). You can walk every part of the city from this privelaged location including the markets and squares.
Even if you don’t stay at this hotel, plan to visit the beautiful – La Rotonda Lounge. Enjoy a cup of tea in the afternoon, or Opera brunch on Sunday – their breakfast buffet is amazing along with live opera performances.
Before or après dinner, enjoy a signature cocktail while the piano player entertains the well dressed crowd mixed with chic business clientele, locals and aristocrats. The lounge is pure elegance and class complemented by the spectacular ornate stained glass dome and chandelier lighting up the room day or night.
